WINTEL Servers Administrator - Responsible for the day to day support, MS Windows server systems administration, maintenance and upgrade of server operating systems. Additionally there is a requirement to provide day to day support to user queries and customer advice. Due to the nature of the environment, there is often a necessity to carry out scheduled work outside of regular working hours (on-call duty).


Mandatory Skills:

• Experience at least 2 years MS Windows NT/2000/2003 administration in corporate environment
• Appropriate certification for complex Windows based environment administration (e.g.MCSA, MCSE)
• Performance monitoring & analysis
• Problem determination & analysis
• Server installation and server configuration
• Problem resolution
• Change implementation
• Good general IT literacy
• Documentation skills (English)
• Communication skills (English)
• Customer focus
• Good team working skills balanced with ability to work alone and a positive attitude

Desirable Skills:

• Backup and Recovery strategies

• Security strategies

• Cluster services maintenance

• HW (IBM, HP, COMPAQ, DELL)

• IBM Tivoli (monitoring and storage)

• Citrix terminal services

• SAN

• Problem and change management tools usage


Other Relevant Information - Candidate must be ready to work within a team on a standby rota for 24x7 support of customer systems and will be expected to perform some out of hours work in order to support customer changes. Candidates must be able to demonstrate that they can effectively manage their workload, be proactive and flexible in their approach to work.
